Activity #85 - Text Me!

During our Ask The Maker activity, wickedgame wrote a text guide, and my fingers are itching to try it. So our new activity focuses on text.

The only requirement is to use text on your icon. It should be text, not a premade text texture, but otherwise every kind of text is allowed: large, tiny, walls of text, single letters, in any language, readable or not.

if only there was a guide on WHAT text to put on an icon, instead of just HOW to put it :D I feel deciding what text to use is the hardest part tbh.

Hahahah omg so true! I especially struggle with non-English canons, because I can't for the life of me remember any quotes from those.

OMG ! Are you my psych twin or something ?? O_O That's exactly how I feel about texts. I love text as a composition tool and I want to use them as often as I can , only problem is I can never come up with what to put as a text ! I draw blank when it comes to words for icons.

I'm actually kind of terrible at text in icons, so this is a fun challenge! ♥

Beautiful set , I love the variations in fonts and placements. 3 is my favorite , that complimentary coloring ! <3

I like how you tried various placement for the text! 2 is very pretty!I like the colours in 3 and 4!

I hope you liked the challenge! Practice makes perfect! <3 You definitely have an eye for composition, the text placement and size works really well in all of these!

My fave are the first and the last one - the contrast between the soft rounded text and his angular face, and the way the text crowds his already close crop more into the foreground, are great. And in the last one, the text looks like some "urgent" stamp, intensifying the tension from the cap. Very cool!

I really like the variety of fonts you used. They all fit the icons perfectly, in my opinion! I especially like the 4th one.

I love how you use such cool fonts!The last icon is just so perfect!The colours, the text placement and how it goes with the dynamic image!

I love how you used different fonts and really managed to put a lot of text in each icon! Great set overall, but he fourth and fifth ones are my favorites: you used perfect text for the images! ♥

I really like these! My fave is #6, the sinuous dynamic movement fits really well with the round text in different directions. I also really like 1 and 2.

You've nailed it ! Beautiful text work and overall coloring and composition ! MY favorite is of course the Penelope one , this gorgeous girl is looking even more gorgeous and the text coupled with the flower accent ! Uff ! Beautiful. Also , the lighting of 2 is so pretty , that frosty blue looks real good.

I love the way the text pops in #2, the very subtle text in #2 and #8, and the composition with the quotation mark in #3 and #4. So many great ideas!
