2019 Progression Post

I was just thinking that I needed to do a progression post! Posting it here rather than on my own journal makes more sense. I didn't make very many icons in 2019, but I feel like I made at least a few good ones!

JANURARY:
No icons, we bought a house and painted THE WHOLE THING by ourselves. I'll never do that again, my hands are cramping just thinking about it...

FEBRUARY:
No icons here either, we were busy moving into our new house.

MARCH:
None. I'm not sure why. I think I was lacking inspiration. Or maybe just tired.

APRIL:
Icons! A Discovery of Witches premiered here in the States and I fell into the fandom hard.



MAY:
No icons, but I made a pretty banner to use as my header for Tumblr.

JUNE:
More ADOW icons. I also made a lyric set for Tumblr and a promotional poster for Twitter.


JULY:
No icons

AUGUST:
No icons, but I made two lyric edits for Tumblr.

SEPTEMBER:
No icons

OCTOBER:
Enter my current obsession, Prodigal Son. I also made another lyric edit for ADOW for Tumblr.


NOVEMBER:
I also made a lyric edit for Tumblr.



DECEMBER:
Two icons for two different challenges. One is ADOW and the other is Emerald City. I also made two lyric edits for PS.

Weird! It was fine when I previewed it. I fixed the error, but I don't know what's wrong with the link. It's still on the host site and I even retyped it, but it still comes up as deleted/removed. So I just left that one out.

I feel like you made some good icons last year, too! I feel there's progress in your coloring, and text work, too. It's great that you had fun making icons. <3

Thank you! I always feel like I'm starting over again, but I think some things are finally starting to stick!

Well, I think that's what happens if you do something for fun without a concentrated effort to reach a specific goal, or without a teacher steering you in a specific direction. Then it feels kind of random, and takes long to see where you want yourself to go and what looks good and what feels right.

But that's also a good thing, because it's not supposed to be effort or stress or anything like that. It's supposed to be fun, and the journey itself - meandering as it may be - is the goal.

I used to be annoyed and impatient when I started out, but by now I have embraced the value of art for art's sake. *g*
