Help With Icon Terms and Links

Hello!

A few weeks ago I commented on the post here about songsets because I hadn't seen them before. I looked up information about it on Fanlore and was distressed to see that it didn't mention them at all. What's more, there wasn't that much information about icons generally, considering what an enormous influence they had on fandom users on LJ.

tinny and excelsior_hallelujah kindly helped me out with some links and I expanded the former page for icon contests. But I would like to see much more added to the history of icon usage there. Unfortunately I am not, myself, an icon maker and I don't know a lot of the needed information.

Fanlore is open to editing by anyone who wants to sign up for an account. However, if you do not want to, I would be glad to add information that is posted here in comments to fill out its pages there. The main ones appear to be:

Please take a look at the links and let me know if you can think of examples, particularly for things like icon memes, aesthetic trends, terms, and different kinds of challenges.

Thank you for the additions, tinny! Yes, the image uploading works in two parts there (kind of like here and LJ, they have to go into a gallery first and then connected to the post).
