Hehee, I've actually never noticed the red blob in your icons before until you mentioned it. :D

I really like the composition! And those fine lines are so hard to get right, but they look perfect - not pixely, not too strong, just right.

I love the coloring in this one. Such a bright, warm, vibrant icon. Beautiful!


(I've started a 10variations Chidi/Eleanor set! It is such slow going, making ten icons from one image is *hard*. :) I could never do it in 30 days.)

It's so hard to get a predominately yellow icon right-- but there is enough rose and red tones that it actually looks quite amazing!

I really like the composition, and the sharpness and coloring is just right.

When it comes to the fonts, I think they're not different enough?

Here are some examples of fonts that fit together *because* they're very different:

I would actually suggest to use the same font for both words in this case, since I can't think of a placement that would make them fit together if they were two different fonts. Unless you try for something like in the Elementary icon, with a very curly "Library" cutting across the "Icon", maybe?

Thank you! Good point about the fonts—I picked those because I had trouble finding a font that looks good both vertically and horizontally, but it's true that they fit together kind of awkwardly. I'll have to go back to poking it, and see what other fonts I've got.

This one seems a little more coherent, though I think I'd want to mess with the positions a bit more.

This took most of the afternoon to make because my brain completely spaced on how to do a mask. ::sigh::

I was going to enter it in the iconthat challenge, but looking at the challenge on my computer, the color scheme is off. On my phone the teals looked green. :/

BUT I really like how it came out, so I'll share it here! Concrit is always welcome. :)

Ugh, yeah, different monitors can be a pain in the ass!

On my screen this icon looks definitely a bit too dark.
The font seems pixelated. Can you set it to anti-alias?

Wow, looking at it on my phone, it is super dark! ::sigh:: Did I mention the brightness is stuck at 100% on my laptop? :(

I'll try and fix it tomorrow. What's anti-alias? I can look for that as well.

Yeah, you're right, that's not the green from the palette. Happens to me a lot, too.

I like the crop, it's very dynamic with that diagonal movement going on there.

I keep guessing at the text, but I think I got it now. :D

Daring, but I think it works. (You could move the "game" to the next line, if you'd like to make it clearer.)

Yeah, I tried just typing in the color code, but for some reason it doesn't pull the right color. It comes up almost white. :/

The text is "you're playing a dangerous game. I know." But now that I think about it, I think there's a 'very' in there... hmm.

I'll play around with it some more.

I agree that the icon looks a bit too dark but the cropping is definitely on point, the only thing I'd do is lighten it just a tad-- other then that, great icon! <3

Ok, did some tweaking, but I'm not sure it's much better. :/ My image quality is low, so if I brighten it too much it gets really pixely. :( I tried adding some lights to it to brighten the dark areas and I changed the anit-aliasing to "smooth" to try to help the font, though it may just be the font I chose. I also moved the text around to make it a little easier to read.

I like it! The text is better readable, you can easily infer it now without guessing. And I think it's light enough, too.

The vibrance is matching, too, which is always important.

In general, there's only so much you can do with LQ source material. The first rule therefore is always to use the most HQ caps you can find (as if that was easy :)).

Darkness issue aside, I like the cap/crop a lot—I like their positions, and the angle of her face is really eyecatching.
