Activity #12 - Step Up
Mar. 31st, 2018 02:42 pm
For this activity, you have to make sets of icons that increase one of their characteristics.
You can e.g. increase brightness: start with a dark icon, and make every subsequent icon brighter, or increase the number of subjects: start with an icon with 0 persons on it and every subsequent icon must have one more person on it, or increase redness: start with blue, go through purple into red. You get the idea, here are a few examples:
Text Size: Small Text -> Large Text
Levels: 1 Level -> 4 Levels
Complexity: Simple -> Complex
Saturation: Grey -> Purple
More Ideas:
Dark -> Light
Far Away -> Zoomed in Close
Pastel -> Vibrant
Child -> Old Person
Morning -> Evening
Everything visible -> Everything obscured
Sharp -> Blurred
Full Icon -> Lots of Negative Space
* Every set must consist of at least 3 icons, so a progression is visible
* There is no limit on the maximum number of icons per set
* You can make as many icons as you like, and as many sets as you like
* Please submit your icons (and URLs!) to this post, all in one comment (if possible).
* Everyone can participate, you don't have to be a member of this community.
Deadline: EXTENDED

Date: 2018-04-20 03:12 pm (UTC)The two characters really look similar, I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference if you hadn't said anything. :D
I like the ones with the light background better, I think, but both versions have their appeal.

Date: 2018-04-20 06:14 pm (UTC)I thought they were completely identical, but after staring at them while making the icons I realized that wasn't quite the case. I think it's the same base images, but slightly recolored.
I think the light ones were more successful, yeah--the dark background blends into their hair a bit too much.
