Date: 2017-11-17 09:32 pm (UTC)The lighting in the first one is amazing, and so is the crop in the second one. I love the coloring in both.

Second attempt (getting a little fancy, and moving the last frame back so she doesn't look quite so much as if she's just banged her knee on the edge of the frame):
Concrit welcome! As I said, I am brand new to this kind of thing.
Re: LIYM
Date: 2017-12-03 05:19 pm (UTC)I think the number of frames could be higher, it looks a little jumpy. But what source did you use? Do you even have more frames than this? If not, well, you did a great job and it's perfect.
If you do have more frames, there is still a lot of space left and you could add a few more - I always try to get as close to the size limit as possible. :D And now DW has increased the gif limit, too. Lots of space to play with.
For the second one, I would suggest trying to leave the texture in one place. I see you centered it around her head, but I find the way it jumps back and forth a little distracting. How does it look when you leave it stationary?

Date: 2017-12-03 10:58 pm (UTC)You're right about the jumpiness, but I think four frames was the most I could do under the circumstances—this is the original panel (though not the scan I used): http://www.writeups.org/wp-content/uploads/Kitty-Pryde-X-Men-Arien-Sprite-early-dancing-h.jpg
I see what you mean about the texture. How's this? (Very quick attempt, using positions from the plain background because that was what I had saved in an easier format to mess with.)
The other thing I can think of is moving the texture horizontally but keeping it in place vertically, but that might be a bit trickier to align, and might still have the same issues as centering it on her.
