tinny: Something Else holding up its colorful drawing - "be different" (Default)
[personal profile] tinny

We haven't had a color challenge in a while, but since both my other comms ([community profile] iconcolors and [community profile] your_favourites) had free-for-all color challenges just last week, I thought we could do something slightly different: complementary colors.

Complementary colors are always on opposite sides of the color wheel. Which pairs are considered complementary depends on the color theory used:

- RGB additive/CMY subtractive (on the left (or top)): red–cyan, green–magenta, and blue–yellow.
- RYB colour model (on the right (or bottom)): red–green, yellow–purple, and blue–orange.

(wikipedia, other)

You can work with either model or mix them, and you can make all your icons one combo or mix them. The only rule is:

Two complementary colors should be the main colors in each icon.

Have fun!

Of course this theme has been done in other comms, and I'd like to use this opportunity to link this beautiful inspiration post:

* Everyone can participate, you don't have to be a member of this community

* I will collect all the icons from the comments and make a result post
