some n00b questions

Hello,

I'm not sure if things are terribly active here, but I'm gonna go for it...

New to DW but not new to icons. I used to be an icon maker on Livejournal under the username wickdshy like many moons ago (showing my age here, lol) and I've recently gotten a hankering to get into icons again, but I'm waaaay out of the loop. Is the icon community still active? The last time I was active was 2017 and it was pretty dead on LJ, but I notice that DW is still quite active and am interested in posting new work here and moving completely away from LJ. However.....there are a lot of things that I'm sure are different. Like, I don't even know where to host my icons for free. I had been hosting them on a private server but that is going to be shutting down soon and now I'm at a loss on where to go. What is the hosting like here on DW? Or am I looking at just using Imgur? Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Also if there's anything else new I should know about please do let me know.

I'm interested in making new icon maker friends as well. My journal is FO but if we have some things in common I'd be open to adding new friends. :)
