Well, it's a challenge. *g*

I arbitrarily set the timeframe to a year last year, and that worked out beautifully.

So for this year, I'm going to do it the same: all the icons I make in 2020 are eligible to go into the table. (I already have a dozen or so, not specifically made for the table, but that's not the point for me. For me, the more important - because more difficult - point is getting to 100 fandoms.)

The original fic challenge has no time limit at all, but of course writing 100 fics in 100 fandoms is much harder - you have to know what you're doing, whereas for making an icon all you need is a screencap.

Actually, I really liked doing this over the course of a year. I just merrily started making icons as usual, and whenever a new fandom popped up (your_favourites tends to produce a lot of those), I just added it to the table into a slot that seemed to fit.

By July, I had two thirds of the table filled. In October, I started specifically trying to fill the remaining 25 slots. With such terrible prompts like "graduate" and "bug" left, I made icons of things I remembered having these things (with the graduate episode from Dawson's Creek, and Spiderman, who counts as a bug, right?).

Basically, the hard part of the challenge comes in the last two months, when you have to figure out how to fill the last few slots with fandoms you haven't used yet. But making 20 icons in two months doesn't sound all that hard, either - and it wasn't. And I actually stuck to fandoms I know at least a little about. I think of those 100 fandoms, there are only five that mean nothing to me at all. (I think those were mostly from the cap chain at icontalking. :D)
