I know what you mean - it would have been better if you could just sign up for 100 icons without having to claim a fandom on top of it. I've checked for similar communities but the only one I've found seems to be inactive. *sigh*

Oh definotely. While I started from LJ,Deviantart and such,I did fall into the tumblr hole last year,lol,and I ended up uninstalling discord from my phone. DW is just so chill with pacing and the people right now, it's why I like it too.

Don't know about weird but there's splash20in20 on LJ where you basically icon things like stock images a lot of times,so that is something super different for me.
Your minimalist icons with bright colours look great!

Hi-5 , because I almost have an addiction of checking out textures, psds and actions :p, though I already have more resources than I can ever possibly use in my creations. I end up repeating same one. :/

That may or may not be about how long any of us are icon making. For e.g , though I'm a Noob, some times I totally lack ideas so I couldn't experiment . :p

Even I've a folder like that where I keep them , and at times , I rework on them and then submit it ...or they just rot. :p The good thing is , since I'm a newbie maker , no body actually have too high expectations out of me , so I can dare to post horrendous stuff if I feel like ! :D :p :v :b ;)

Go figure ! That is some thing that always happens with time. Not always about time though .
Suppose , I've put up a set of 20 icons for 20muses or monthlyinspo or some thing . I look at the set and decide "This 5 are my top icons. " and of course when people comment , I find out that the top 5 icons according to them are very very different from mine ! :p

I used to have an external hard drive filled with tons of textures/brushes/other resources and all of my screencaps (both collected over time from various sites and my own). I'm talking 200gb of screencaps here. ...and then the hard drive shorted out and I lost all the data. All my resources, all my screencaps, and all my saved icons and other graphics. That was a few years ago and I'm still upset about it - mostly the screencaps though because some of them were from sites that have long since disappeared and I haven't been able to recover my screencap collection. The worst part of it was that it was by stupid coincidence that I had deleted my backup copies just a couple of days before because I needed the hard drive space for something else - I had already ordered another hard drive to be my new backup, but then disaster struck before I could copy any of my files to it.

One good thing about the whole mess was that I had to go texture hunting again and I lost many evenings to browsing DeviantArt and old LJs for textures and caps. *g*

Yup. People have such different tastes. Sometimes it's a real surprise to me which icons of mine people like the most. It's such a subjective thing, to look at a bunch of icons and pick "the best" because what you really mean is "the ones that I, personally, find the most appealing".

Agree about Deviant Art being a gold mine , not just for textures though, for all kind of stunning resources and the variety is just ming boggling. Every time I go there , I end up spending much more time browsing and downloading them , than I had originally intended. :D

That's so very frightening ! Because I realize I've no copy of my resource folders as well. I've separate files for Icon textures, icon psds , Tumblr psds, tumblr textures and deviant art psds ! Yup , I like being organized ( though I don't use them much ! It's for mental peace purpose !! :D ).
Holy Satan ! O_0 200 Gb !!!!!! Gosh ! I immediately delete out my screen caps once I've made icons and that's why I'd never be able to icon redo type challenges because it's not really possible to find out the exact screen cap by fluke again.
Yeah I get what u mean. Perusing resources is immensely de-stressing.

Agree about SNS being stressful at times , especially the 3 biggies , namely facebook, twitter and tumblr. :/

I love coffee too , but since I reside in a hot and humid part of a hot and humid country , there's not scope of coffee drinking for 5-6 months of extended summer ! But I can't function without tea or coffee. So I drink lots of tea. :D

But gif will always remain my most favorite . Just love making them.

What is asexual representation ?? You mean when the character's sexual orientation is not a focal point ?

Almost , every one is mentioning Harry Potter ! o_0 Go figure ! I was totally obsessed with HP during my growing up years , but I have lost interest now and even gave away my books or lost them . The ending and endgame both were terrible IMO.

Actually , I never use any thing less than HD caps to make even icons and some times I feel like making icons , just because HD caps are available ! :D

Agree about POC representation , but gay presentation is still pathetic IMO.

I spend a lot of time daily at Instagram too , so much so that I'd to set timer now to remind me I'm spending too much time at IG. :p

I don't do artworks myself any more but I just love looking at them at tumblr and deviantart.

Nah, I mean representation of asexual people.

*sigh* I wish I could get Bluray caps of everything I love. It's such a joy to work with those! But unfortunately some of my shows are only available in VHS quality. I tend to try with those low-res caps anyway, because I want to exhibit my love for these shows.

I think you might be right about the hair for icoing the ladies, although sometimes it can drive me 7 kinds of crazy when I want to cut out the person to use on another background and there is all this wild hair which takes forever.

Hahaha but the thing is I've two tumblr gif blogs for which I've been making gifs since years , so I'd the basic knowledge of PS, which helped I guess. :D
