Our First Activity - Got Fandom?
By popular request, there are going to be icon challenges in this community. Since I don't like the word "battle", and there is really nothing competitive about them, I'm going to call them "activities".
These activities will work like this:
* I make a post with all the information you need
* You have three weeks to make icons and post them in a comment to the information post (not screened)
* I collect all the icons (and whatever you have to say about them) from the comments and make a result post
* There is no voting
* Everyone can leave comments on the inspiration and activity summary posts
My current plan is to run one such activity per month, but we'll see how it goes and if you even like what I come up with.
But now, on to our first activity! What better way to get to know each other than by showing each other what fandoms we like:
For this activity, you should make five icons. You have until May 20th (end of day) to submit your icons as comments to this post.
1 - First Love
Icon your first fandom! This can be any fandom that you remember as a "first" - the first one you ever saw, or the first one you ever got fannish about, the first one you ever iconned, or the one that first connected you with other fans.

2 - Current Obsession
Icon the fandom that currently excites you most! It doesn't have to be a current fandom in that it has to be new or currently airing. It just has to be the fandom you want to icon most right now!

3 - Biggest Fandom
Icon the fandom that for you was the biggest fandom. We all know those popular fandoms everyone is iconning, there are thousands of fics, and even years later, activity is still high. If you have never been part of one of those huge fandoms, it can be the one you made the most icons of in your life, or the one for which you know the most fans.

4 - Tiny Fandom
Icon the fandom that you feel like nobody has seen but more people should have! Make an icon that makes us want to watch it! Show us what we missed.

5 - True Love
Icon the fandom that has stuck with you the longest. The one you will love forever, no matter what canon throws (or threw) at you. If you have no such fandom - because all fandoms inevitably dissappoint you ;) - you can choose to interpret this "love" theme to be about a favorite couple instead: icon a pairing you love.

Some notes:
* It is okay to enter fewer than five icons (but the final results post will look nicer if every slot is filled :)).
* Please submit your icons (icons and URLs) to this post, all in one comment (if possible).
* You don't have to icon five different fandoms. If your first fandom happens to be a tiny fandom and your true love, no problem!
* Everyone can participate, you don't have to be a member of this community.
* For each icon, please add at least the name of the fandom to your comment.
* Feel free to tell us more about what you like about the fandom, or what makes it special for you, in your submission!

First Fandom

X-Files was the first show that I *had* to watch every week. It was tough going in the beginning since I was pretty young and my mom usually made me go to bed before it was over. :( I tried to stick it out after David left, but I hated what they did to Scully. I felt they tried to make her the new Mulder and it just didn't work for me. I gave up after the first season with no Mulder. I DID watch both movies and am absolutely ecstatic that they've brought it back! Even if the new full series doesn't have Gillian and David, I'll give it a shot.
Current Obsession

Emerald City was an AMAZING show. The characters were great, the cinematography was stunning, the plot was solid... I could go on forever. I'm very sad NBC decided to cancel it. :( But I've got my stash of screen caps and piles of lines from the show to make icons!
Biggest Fandom

Once Upon a Time has a GIANT fandom. The first fanfic I ever read was for OUaT. And while I still love the show, I'm starting to feel like it's run it's course. The main conflict of the show is miscommunication/lack of communication between characters. It's just getting annoying at this point. And a musical episode? Really? It works for some shows, and I get it, it's Disney, but it really did NOT work for this show. But I'm sure the fandom will live on.
Tiny Fandom

Legion (the TV show, not the comic) has only 44 fanfics (that I could find) on AO3 and FF *combined* and zero screencaps. I made some from some promos I found online just to be able to make some icons. I'm sure it will probably pick up since this was the first season of the show and the comic seems to have a fairly decent following. The show is amazing though. It's part of the X-Men universe, David is the main character and has been told his whole life that he's schizophrenic. He's spent most of his life in and out of rehab/mental institutions. Then one day he finds out he has amazing mental abilities, he's not sick, he's gifted. So he joins a group of others with special abilities of their own to learn how to use his powers. It's set in the late seventies/early eighties and has a very nostalgic feel to it. Aubrey Plaza is fantastic in this and is one of my favorite characters on the show. I'm excited for next season!
True Love

Labyrinth is one of those movies that I watched as a kid that stuck with me forever. Discovering the fandom as an adult has given me a new love of the movie and it's characters. This is the first fandom that I have attempted to write a massive fanfic for (I've written ficlets for a couple other fandoms) though I can't seem to finish it. :/

The X-Files one is great. I really love the Legion one, too. It is so dynamic!
The Labyrinth one is also wonderful. The vibrant coloring matches the atmosphere of the movie, and I love how you set the characters against the opening door with that crop.

I was unsure of the X-Files one once it was complete because the color scheme is not really right for the show lol.
I really liked the way the Labyrinth one came out once it was done too! I tried to add some extras to it, but decided to just leave it be.
